Luxe PAck Monaco 2026

Sustainability, Creativity and Digital Innovation in Luxury Packaging

At the end of September, LUXE PACK Monaco once again brought together the international luxury and premium packaging industry at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. As the world’s leading trade fair for creative packaging, the event showcased the latest developments in design, sustainability, materials, and digital innovation.

Sustainability was one of the dominant themes throughout the exhibition. Exhibitors presented a wide range of solutions aimed at reducing material consumption, lowering packaging weight, and replacing plastics with recyclable, biodegradable, and paper-based alternatives. Refillable packaging concepts also continued to gain momentum, particularly within the cosmetics and luxury goods sectors.

Among the many material innovations on display were new fibre-based protective packaging solutions and bio-based alternatives to conventional foams and plastics. These developments highlighted the industry’s efforts to combine sustainability with premium product presentation, protection, and an enhanced unboxing experience.

Alongside sustainable materials, digitalisation emerged as another key trend. Packaging is increasingly becoming a gateway to digital services through QR codes, connected products, and digital product passports. Innovative solutions such as ava, developed by Koenig & Bauer and Bosch, demonstrated how authentication, brand protection, and traceability can be integrated into a seamless user experience. Another highlight was Auraveo, which uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality to transform packaging into an interactive communication channel, enabling brands to deliver engaging storytelling and personalised content directly through the product.

Creativity and brand experience were equally important topics across the exhibition. Formats such as Make a Mark showcased how designers, brands, and packaging specialists are rethinking the role of packaging in luxury markets. Through case studies and interviews, the programme highlighted the growing importance of design, craftsmanship, emotional engagement, and storytelling in creating memorable consumer experiences.

The event also marked an important milestone for its own future development. Organisers announced that LUXE PACK Monaco will become LUXE PACK WORLD from 2027 onwards. The new identity reflects the event’s expanding international reach and its ambition to further strengthen connections across the global luxury packaging community, while Monaco will remain its home.

Overall, the exhibition demonstrated that the future of luxury packaging lies at the intersection of sustainability, creativity, and digital innovation. For the print and packaging industry, these developments offer new opportunities to combine environmental responsibility, brand protection, and consumer engagement in increasingly sophisticated ways.
